Northrop Grumman Space Systems’ Advance Programs Operating Unit, is currently seeking a Program Manager 1 to provide program leadership to our Carbon-Carbon team, on-site at our Promontory, Utah site.
Overview
This Program Manager (PM) will support the management of the Common Hypersonic Glide Body contracts (C-HGB). Northrop Grumman manufactures the thermal protection system for the C-HGB program which is used on the Army’s Dark Eagle and Navy’s Conventional Prompt Strike programs. This is an exciting and challenging time for the program as we advance from prototyping to production and accelerate delivery of this critical capability. The PM will be responsible for program success by integrating cost, schedule, and technical performance through cross-functional leadership and proactive management.
Role and Responsibilities:
Finance: Profit and loss accountability through proactive management of expenditures and monthly reporting; lead cost-savings initiatives
Schedule: Oversee execution of integrated team activities to achieve program milestones
Contracts Management: Ensure execution activities are within contract requirements and manage scope creep
Risk and Opportunity Management: Mitigation of program risks and realization of opportunities
Stakeholder Leadership: Manage messaging and relationships with executive leadership, customers, prime contractors, industry partners, and suppliers.
Strategy and Growth: Identify opportunities for additional scope, follow-on contracts and new customers; Support proposal management, preparation and submittals
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading projects or team performance against cost, schedule, technical and quality
Experience working with cross-functional teams to accomplish program goals
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership and customers
Familiarity with business tools and processes used for scheduling and reporting
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of earned value management strongly preferred
Knowledge of tape wrapping or carbon densification processing
Primary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
