Northrop Grumman's Space Systems has an opening for a Production Planning Scheduling Manager 3 to join our leadership team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will primarily sit in Chandler, AZ with direct reports in other regions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality.

  • Provides leadership when the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems are escalated to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed

  • Tracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts. Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

  • Responsible for the lifecycle execution of the production planning process which includes, loading sales orders/purchase orders, forecast demand, material planning, material consumption, and material control.

  • Supervises a team that prepares, develops, and coordinates the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet all program objectives.

  • Supervises a team that plans and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory processes

  • Supervises a team that identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules

  • Supervises a team that schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements

  • Supervises a team that coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience planning material requirements and scheduling in a production environment OR Master’s degree with 6 years related experience

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance

  • Able to travel approximately 25%

Preferred Qualification:

  • 5 years of people leadership experience managing a team of direct reports

  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

  • Experience using systems like Costpoint, Microsoft Project, SAP, MES and Sync

We work a 9/80 schedule (9 hours per day Mon-Thurs, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off)
