Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Dimensional Calibration Technician – Level 2 to join our team in Promontory, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The Dimensional Calibration Technician calibrates, tests, adjusts, and maintains a wide range of electronic, dimensional, and mechanical test and measuring equipment. This role supports both field and laboratory operations, ensuring equipment traceability to NIST or fundamental constants and adherence to ISO 17025 requirements. The technician works closely with mentors and program teams to meet customer turnaround commitments and quality requirements.

This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off. Start time for this role is 5:30am - 6:00am.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Calibrate dimensional test and measuring equipment to conform to established standards.
• Test, calibrate, adjust, and maintain electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, force, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments.
• Set up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements.
• Disassemble and clean instruments, as required, to perform calibration.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control and other control procedures.
• Independently determine and perform operations required to calibrate and certify physical/mechanical Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE), maintaining traceability to NIST or fundamental constants.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experienc
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance

• General purpose dimensional hand tools (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, bore gages, plug and ring gages, pin gages)
• Extensive knowledge and experience using, Including but not limited to:
  • Measuring machines
  • Laser systems
  • Optical comparators (with Metlogic2 software)
  • Vision systems
  • Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
  • Height gages
  • Gage blocks
  • Torque tools/equipment
  • Scales and balance
  • Weights
  • MetTeam software

• Mix of field and laboratory work.
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions when performing field calibrations.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in calibration of electrical, dimensional, thermodynamic, mass, force, pressure, and torque disciplines.
• Understanding of ISO 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories), or willingness to develop this knowledge
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to quantify measurement uncertainty.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with calibration management software (e.g., MetTeam) is a plus.
• Effective communication skills and ability to train other technicians.

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
