Supplier Quality Engineer, Power - Sunnyvale

As a Power Supplier Quality Engineer, you work in collaboration with Suppliers, Hardware Designers, Commodity Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Data Center teams. You set and manage Power component quality and reliability standards, drive supplier factory certification audits, and lead component and manufacturing site qualifications. You actively manage NPI and sustaining quality, continuous improvements, and ensure lessons learned are actioned back to suppliers and partner teams. You drive the true root cause failure analysis and systemic corrective actions with comprehensive preventative actions. You extract and analyze data from supplier facilities, Google production lines, and Google data centers to verify performance and drive improvements.

US: $171000 - $247000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in Power Electronics - Controllers, Converters (DC-DC), or Rectifiers (AC-DC), and HV Battery/Capacitor Back-up unit Engineering or Manufacturing processes.
• 5 years of experience in Quality, Reliability or Product Engineering.
• Experience with Power Electronics, Battery and PCB/PCBA manufacturing and assembly technologies.
• Ability to travel up to 25% as required.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field.
• 15 years of experience in Power Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality/Reliability and knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes.
• Experience in technical leadership, project management, and executive communication.

• Apply Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) fundamentals and collaborate with teams to help them understand and apply RCCA tools and principles and analyze/understand failure to resolve issues.
• Define and execute data collection activities for high complexity technical issues.
• Drive process design, optimization, and qualification activities of a manufacturing process for a component, part, or product.
