Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and launch tooling for manufacturing processes, including stamping, injection molding, machining, assembly, or fabrication operations.
- Evaluate and improve tooling performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Lead tooling procurement, installation, validation, and production startup activities.
- Develop process parameters, work instructions, and standardized operating procedures.
- Analyze production issues and implement corrective actions to improve quality, productivity, and safety.
- Coordinate engineering changes and tooling modifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis for tooling, process, and quality concerns.
- Support new product launches through process development and tooling readiness activities.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure tooling is designed and built according to specifications.
- Monitor key process metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
- Assist in capital equipment planning and process optimization projects.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from four-year college or university; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience creating Manufacturing Process Prints, Standard Work Instructions and Job Element Sheets. Must have experience with CNC programming; Automotive Engineering; transmission component & machining (turning & grinding); laser welding; induction heat & cert; spline; cutting & rolling. Familiarity working with various machining equipment including CNC lathe and mill. Induction hardening preferred. Working knowledge of G-code programming and operations. Must be proficient with GD&T. Excellent organizational skills. Able to effectively communicate with customers, peers, management, and plant personnel effectively (written and verbal). Required to be proactive and suggest improvements to existing processes policies and systems. Self-starter who is positive and professional. Ability to set priorities and multitask projects. Able to work hours required to comply with deadlines and to support corrective actions when they are needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attendance and satisfactory work performance record. Must be willing to further education to improve skillset as required.

Additional Skills:
Language Skills: Requires extensive tact and communication skills (verbal and written) for direct customer communication. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Able to communicate in English effectively (both written and oral).
Mechanical / “Hands-on” skills: Must be comfortable with running and trouble-shooting machinery or has shown aptitude working on mechanical / electrical / pneumatic systems.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to create and interpret graphs. Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to use problem solving when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient on the computer, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Project Management software. Prior experience utilizing AS400 Database software, AutoCAD and ability to create spreadsheets.
Communication Skills: Ability to use active listening and assertive communication when needed. Ability to give positive and constructive feedback effectively.
Problem Solving Skills: Understands and can apply 5 Why mythology, Skillful in analysis of problems, research to identify root causes and find solutions, creativity to find robust and effective solutions to problems. Able to make decisions based on available information.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk and listen. The employee must frequently general good health to meet fast paced environment, and sometimes high stress situations. Must be able to function in very fast pace moving environment. The employee is occasionally required to; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office setting and plant floor. The noise level in the office environment is usually low to moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to low levels of vibration. The employee may be required to be on the production floor where they would be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually moderate to loud.
