Electrical Engineer - Power Studies, Associate Intern

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering studies, including power factor analysis, harmonic modeling, grounding analysis, and short-circuit studies.
  • Provide engineering-related design, analysis, and studies.
  • Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls.
  • Work with the Field Services team on shutdown, startup, installation, and maintenance projects.
  • Interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.
  • Engage in hands-on engineering with the engineering and field service group.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and co-workers.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Systems.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in the field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with power system modeling software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EasyPower) is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of protective relay projects, short-circuit studies, and power quality studies is a plus.
  • Utility design experience is a plus.
