Responsibilities
- Engineer mechanical design solutions for spacecraft flight hardware and mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE).
- Create designs with DFM/DFA considering manufacturing rates.
- Perform preliminary FEA and hand calculations for design feasibility.
- Create component drawings with appropriate GD&T for affordability.
- Develop assembly drawings, fabrication procedures, and build instructions.
- Execute a time-bound project of high value to York.
- Gain hands-on assembly and test experience and interface with multiple engineering disciplines.
Job Requirements
- Enrollment in a 4-year Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related program.
- Solidworks (or similar) CAD skills.
- Self-initiated work in a team environment with leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills and a team player.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn.
- Interest in full-time employment at York Space Systems.
- Demonstrated interest in spacecraft and space systems.
