Responsibilities
- Engineer mechanical design solutions for spacecraft flight hardware and mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE).
- Create designs with DFM/DFA considering manufacturing rates.
- Perform preliminary FEA, hand calculations, and fastener margins for feasible designs.
- Create component drawings with appropriate GD&T for affordable production.
- Develop assembly drawings, fabrication procedures, and build instructions.
- Execute a time-bound project of high value to York.
- Gain hands-on assembly and test experience.
Job Requirements
- Enrollment in a 4-year Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related program.
- Solidworks (or similar) CAD skills.
- Teamwork and leadership skills with self-initiated work.
- Strong communication and team player qualities.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn.
- Interest in full-time employment at York Space Systems.
- Demonstrated interest in spacecraft and space systems.
