Interconnect Firmware Engineer

The Interconnect Firmware Engineer at AMD is responsible for firmware development and feature enablement for the Infinity Fabric IP across all AMD products, focusing on high-performance computing. The role involves enhancing tools for data processing and contributing to software debugging and optimization.

• Develop firmware and enable features in the Infinity Fabric interconnect for AMD products.
• Enhance Python-based tools for processing complex data and generating hardware initialization binaries.
• Collaborate with architects and IP leads on firmware scope and implementation.
• Perform unit and integration testing and provide debug support in various environments.
• Participate in design and code reviews.
• Work with internal and external teams to ensure high-quality firmware throughout its lifecycle.
• Document development processes and solutions concisely.

• Proven experience in firmware development and validation for SoC designs.
• Expertise in low-level C programming and software optimization for embedded systems.
• Strong skills in Python and Linux scripting for data processing.
• Background in computer architecture and familiarity with memory interleaving and NUMA concepts.
• Experience in board/processor/ASIC bring-up and testing platforms.
• Knowledge of hardware/software interfaces and debugging techniques.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
