Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on reliability targets for power electronics and battery systems.
  • Provide Design for Reliability (DfR) inputs during new product development.
  • Conduct Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) to capture performance risks.
  • Develop Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) Reliability Test Plans based on identified risks.
  • Track field reliability performance metrics and identify opportunities for product improvement.
  • Drive failure analysis of reliability tests and field returns to determine root causes.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to provide insights into the warranty program.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of solving complex power electronics reliability failures.
  • Working knowledge of common power converter topologies (e.g., inverters, buck boost converters).
  • Deep understanding of physics of failure and common failure mechanisms in power electronics components.
  • Experience with failure analysis techniques (e.g., optical microscopy, SEM, X-ray).
  • Knowledge of accelerated life testing models for PCBAs and battery storage.
  • Understanding of reliability statistics.
