Responsibilities
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on reliability targets for power electronics and battery systems.
- Provide Design for Reliability (DfR) inputs during new product development.
- Conduct Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) to capture performance risks.
- Develop Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) Reliability Test Plans based on identified risks.
- Track field reliability performance metrics and identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Drive failure analysis of reliability tests and field returns to determine root causes.
- Collaborate with the finance team to provide insights into the warranty program.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Proven track record of solving complex power electronics reliability failures.
- Working knowledge of common power converter topologies (e.g., inverters, buck boost converters).
- Deep understanding of physics of failure and common failure mechanisms in power electronics components.
- Experience with failure analysis techniques (e.g., optical microscopy, SEM, X-ray).
- Knowledge of accelerated life testing models for PCBAs and battery storage.
- Understanding of reliability statistics.
