Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on reliability targets for power electronics and battery systems.
  • Provide Design for Reliability (DfR) inputs during new product development.
  • Conduct Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) to identify performance risks.
  • Develop Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) Reliability Test Plans for components and subsystems.
  • Track and analyze field reliability performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive failure analysis of reliability tests and field returns to determine root causes.
  • Collaborate with the finance team regarding warranty program insights.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience solving complex power electronics reliability failures.
  • Knowledge of common power converter topologies (e.g., inverter, buck boost converter).
  • Understanding of physics of failure and common failure mechanisms for PCBAs and power electronics.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis techniques (optical microscopy, SEM, X-ray, etc.).
  • Experience with accelerated life testing models for PCBAs and battery storage.
  • Understanding of reliability statistics.
