Supplier Quality Engineer, Battery and Uninterruptible Power Supply

Responsibilities

  • Manage the supplier quality and reliability for Battery/UPS components, from NPI through end-of-life.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives during NPI phases to ensure the technical and operational readiness of the Battery/UPS supply chain for mass production.
  • Partner with Design, Manufacturing, and Commodity teams as the subject matter expert on qualifying and scaling Battery/UPS technologies.
  • Drive the supplier selection and qualification process through on-site audits and technical assessments of their quality and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Drive the resolution of critical fleet and factory issues, leading suppliers through Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Analysis (FA), and Eight Disciplines (8D) processes.
  • Set and manage quality and reliability standards for Battery/UPS components.
  • Actively manage NPI and sustaining quality, continuous improvements, and ensure lessons learned are actioned back to suppliers and partner teams.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, reliability, or product engineering.
  • Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Quality, Electrical) preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in Quality/Reliability, Battery/UPS, and PCBA manufacturing process preferred.
  • Excellent teamwork, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience with high-volume, high-reliability hardware in industries such as servers, automotive, or aerospace.
