Responsibilities
- Characterize PV cells and materials through various testing methods.
- Model and test the impacts of LEO environment on cell performance.
- Specify and evaluate materials for coverglass, coatings, and encapsulants.
- Develop designs to minimize resistive loss in interconnects.
- Define protocols for supplier screening and lot acceptance.
- Design experiments, analyze data, and publish design rules.
- Mentor junior researchers and maintain lab best practices.
Job Requirements
- PhD in Physics/EE/MatSci with 8+ years or MS with 10+ years in PV device research.
- Expertise in photovoltaic testing and analysis techniques.
- Experience with radiation and thermal cycling testing for LEO.
- Knowledge in materials selection and compatibility for space applications.
- Skills in experimental design and data analysis.
- Preferred PhD with 12+ years and publication record in space photovoltaics.
- Strong collaboration skills with manufacturing processes.
