Responsibilities
- Design mechanisms for space flight, including landing gear and docking systems.
- Participate in the entire design cycle of flight hardware, from conceptual design to qualification.
- Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware.
- Conduct subsystem level testing and manage suppliers.
- Quickly design and produce non-flight, proof of concept hardware for R&D projects.
- Collaborate within a small, agile team to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Utilize 3D modeling and simulation tools for mechanical design and analysis.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
- 3-5+ years of relevant industry experience in aerospace or mechanical systems.
- Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D modeling tools (CREO preferred).
- Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stacks.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and integration testing.
- Proficient in technical writing and communication.
- Experience in specifying margins and test sequences for aerospace systems.
