Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the engineering design team to address the mechanical needs of the Astrolab rover.
- Design and analyze mechanical systems using software simulation and experimental data.
- Define component requirements and communicate lunar operational constraints within the team.
- Make decisions on flight hardware selection and develop integration processes for the vehicle.
- Develop test plans to validate and qualify mechanical subsystems for flight.
- Coordinate testing with in-house and external facilities.
- Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or STEM field.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical system engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software for part modeling and development.
- Experience with finite element modeling and analysis software.
- Knowledge in design for manufacturing and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Master’s degree in engineering (preferred).
- Experience in engineering structures, mechanisms, and actuators (preferred).
