YOUR MISSION
True Anomaly is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of electrical system architectures for our next-generation space vehicles. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will contribute to system-level electrical architecture development, system reliability analysis, and integration of power, data, and control systems across the spacecraft. This role emphasizes growing your systems engineering skills — learning to think about how electrical subsystems interact, how components meet mission requirements, and how system-level decisions impact overall spacecraft performance. You'll work on cutting-edge space vehicle technology alongside a multidisciplinary team while developing expertise in both electrical design and systems thinking.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support development of electrical system architectures and block diagrams for spacecraft avionics under senior engineer guidance
Create and
maintain
system-level documentation including block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and interface specifications
Contribute to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities, documenting failure modes and
assisting
with risk assessments
Assist
in reviewing and evaluating electrical components and COTS products, researching datasheets and specifications to support
component
selection decisions
Support
component
qualification planning including evaluation of environmental specifications,
derating
requirements, and reliability data
Design electrical circuits and subsystems for avionics applications including power supplies, sensor interfaces, and control circuits
Create electrical schematics, BOMs, and assembly drawings using CAD tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar)
Perform circuit analysis including power calculations, voltage drop analysis, and basic worst-case analysis under senior engineer review
Support electrical system analysis activities including power budgets, load flow studies, and interface verification
Participate in hardware bring-up, debugging, and testing using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers)
Execute test procedures for electrical verification including functional testing, continuity checks, and environmental test support
Document test results, create test reports, and track issues through resolution
Collaborate with harness design teams on cable specifications, connector selections, and routing requirements
Support integration and test activities including spacecraft-level electrical checkout and systems testing
Participate in design reviews presenting analysis results, design status, and test data
Maintain electrical system documentation including design files, test data, analysis reports, and as-built records
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
or related technical field

years of professional experience in electrical engineering, circuit design, or related technical discipline
Fundamental knowledge of circuit design, power electronics, and electrical systems
Familiarity with electrical CAD tools for schematic capture (Altium, OrCAD, EAGLE,
KiCad
, or similar)
Basic understanding of electrical analysis methods including circuit simulation, power budgeting, or
component
derating
Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, data-sheets, and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Self-motivated learner with eagerness to develop
expertise
in aerospace electrical engineering
Good communication
skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
or related discipline
Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability applications
Exposure to system reliability analysis methods such as FMEA, fault tree analysis, or reliability modeling
Experience creating technical diagrams using Visio,
Lucidchart
, or similar tools
Familiarity with space-grade components, radiation effects, or environmental qualification testing
Knowledge of digital communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-422, UART)
Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for analysis and automation
Understanding of PCB design principles and experience working with layout engineers
Familiarity with aerospace standards such as NASA-STD-8739, MIL-STD-461, or IPC standards
Interest in spacecraft systems, power electronics, or embedded hardware design
COMPENSATION
Base Salary:
$90,000 - $165,000

on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Work
Location
: this role will be fully onsite at our GravityWorks factory in Centennial, CO
or Long Beach, CA.
Work environment
is in a standard office, working at a desk or in a production factory.
Physical demands
may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20lbs.
