Internship conversion position. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, 100 % on-site at our facility in
El Segundo, CA.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Independently plan and contribute to technical analysis projects.
- Exercise your expertise in understanding, modeling, and analyzing enterprise-level integrated missions.
- Use and contribute to the development of in-house and commercial/government-off-the-shelf engineering analysis tools and analysis products.
- Develop and deliver timely and technically accurate presentations and reports.
- Travel occasionally as required.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree from an accredited college/university program in engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field from an accredited school. (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
- 0-1 year of industry experience
- Prior internship with The Aerospace Corporation
- Additional years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments.
- Proficiency with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
- Technical understanding of space operations, red vs blue simulations, military utility, threat phenomenologies, kill chain effectiveness, communications infrastructure, and/or command and control (C2).
- Experience with multi-phenomenology remote sensing techniques, specifically EOIR, RF, and RADAR processing, for object detection, tracking, and characterization.
- Experience with Python and/or C++.
- Ability to work on dynamic assignments and evolving customer needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication skills.
This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Experience modeling the space domain in AFSIM and/or integrating external tools with AFSIM.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community, U.S. Department of Defense, and Department of the Air Force business practices and programs.
- Current Top Secret/SCI Clearance with polygraph, and special programs access.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
