We are seeking aSenior Electrical Engineer - Embedded & Digital Hardwareto play a key role in the development of next-generation electro-optical and sensing technologies. This is a highly visible, hands-on engineering position where you'll work alongside talented multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, integrate, and validate complex embedded electronics and digital hardware from concept through production.

In this role, you'll help shape future product architectures while working with cutting-edge technologies including embedded processors, FPGAs, SoCs, high-speed digital interfaces, advanced sensor systems, and low-power electronics. You'll have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems, influence system design decisions, and see your work transition into real-world products used in demanding environments around the world.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with Product Management and Business Development to define future products, technologies, and hardware roadmaps.
  • Translate system requirements into robust hardware architectures and board-level designs.
  • Design and develop complex PCB assemblies utilizing embedded processors, FPGA and SoC technologies, memory subsystems, and high-speed digital interfaces.
  • Work closely with Software, FPGA, Mechanical, Systems, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering teams throughout product development.
  • Develop schematics, participate in PCB layout reviews, and ensure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost objectives.
  • Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, integration, debug, validation, and verification activities in laboratory environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex electronic systems and conduct root cause investigations to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Support signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and design-for-manufacturing initiatives.
  • Create design documentation, technical specifications, test procedures, and manufacturing release packages.
  • Support new product introduction and transition into production.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs, solve complex engineering problems, and drive innovative solutions.
  • Lead technical efforts involving cross-functional teams while effectively communicating project status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering efficiency, product quality, and reliability.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience designing complex digital hardware, embedded electronics, or board-level electronic systems.
  • Strong background in digital circuit design, hardware architecture, and PCB development.
  • Experience with embedded processors, memory architectures, and high-speed digital interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SERDES, MIPI, UART, 1553, Aurora, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with schematic capture, hardware integration, debugging, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and board-level design best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience developing FPGA- or SoC-based hardware platforms.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, Lattice, Microchip, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Altium Designer or similar design tools.
  • Experience developing products involving imaging systems, sensors, electro-optical systems, aerospace, defense, industrial, or medical technologies.
  • Experience supporting products from concept development through production release.
