Position Summary

Pivotal Systems is seeking a

Staff Manufacturing Integration Engineer to lead the design, build, documentation, deployment, and manufacturing transfer of production test and calibration systems.

This senior individual contributor will define scalable test-system architectures and standards while remaining hands-on in system integration, debugging, validation, and deployment. The role will also drive contract manufacturing transfer, cost reduction, configuration control, and global manufacturing readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Define architecture and technical standards for production testing, calibration, and verification systems.

  
  

• Design and develop automated test equipment, fixtures, calibration stations, and support hardware/software.

  
  

• Build, integrate, debug, calibrate, and validate electromechanical test systems.

  
  

• Develop engineering drawings, BOMs, work instructions, assembly procedures, and acceptance of test documentation.

  
  

• Lead product and test-system transfer to contract manufacturers and global manufacturing sites.

  
  

• Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement on sourcing, RFQs, supplier qualification, second sourcing, and cost reduction.

  
  

• Create and review 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using GD&T and standard drafting practices.

  
  

• Manage BOMs, part numbers, revisions, and engineering changes through PLM/PDM/ERP systems.

  
  

• Lead manufacturing integration and NPI activities from prototype and first article through production ramp.

  
  

• Support global system installation, commissioning, qualification, and manufacturing-site readiness.

  
  

• Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement using tools such as 8D, FMEA, DOE, SPC, and measurement system analysis.

  
  

• Mentor engineers and technicians and collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.

  
  

Required Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field; MS preferred.

  
  

• 12+ years of experience in manufacturing, testing, systems integration, or related engineering roles.

  
  

• Proven experience designing, building, and deploying production test or calibration systems.

  
  

• Strong hands-on electromechanical integration skills, including mechanical assembly, wiring, instrumentation, tubing/plumbing, debugging, and calibration.

  
  

• Experience transferring products or systems to contract manufacturers and managing quality, cost, and delivery.

  
  

• Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier qualification, RFQs, cost analysis, second sourcing, and design-to-cost.

  
  

• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D engineering drawings, with working knowledge of GD&T.

  
  

• Experience developing multi-level BOMs and managing ECR/ECO/ECN processes in PLM, PDM, or ERP systems.

  
  

• Experience with test automation and data tools such as LabVIEW and/or Python.

  
  

• Strong knowledge of quality and root-cause methods including 8D, FMEA, DOE, SPC, and measurement system analysis.

  
  

• Ability to lead cross-functional technical programs and work effectively with global teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.

  
  

• Ability to travel internationally as needed.

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Semiconductor capital equipment or other high-precision manufacturing experience.

  
  

• Experience with gas delivery, flow control, fluid, pressure, or instrumentation systems.

  
  

• Experience managing contract manufacturers in Asia or other international regions.

  
  

• Familiarity with electrical CAD, wiring harnesses, and pneumatic/fluidic schematics.

  
  

• Experience with PLM/ERP systems such as Arena, Agile, Windchill, SAP, or Oracle.

  
  

• Knowledge of SEMI standards, ISO 9001, Lean, or Six Sigma.

  
  

• Experience establishing or scaling a test platform, manufacturing line, or production site.
