Overview Hussmann's Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader in the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann. As a Reliability Engineering Intern in the 2027 Hussmann Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into a day in the life of an engineering professional. You will work across the engineering team to provide new product development support. Responsibilities Assist with concept layout, design, and development, via 3D CAD software, of refrigeration system products, components, or services from product specifications. Learn our customers' needs and follow the processes required for developing and releasing the product at a high-quality level and at a given deadline. Learn and follow the processes used for implementation of product releases and engineering change notices. Suggest improvements to overall innovation, quality, function, and cost of product. Participate in studies of new and existing designs to incorporate new cost-effective technology to maintain a competitive edge. Utilize contemporary Engineering processes and tools such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), Reliability Analysis, etc. Participate in developing detailed specifications, detailed program plans and work breakdown structure, milestones, major review, schedule, cost, etc. Follow project plans and communicate their status to the team. Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization. Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality. Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events. Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation. Qualifications Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree  Minimum 3.0 GPA  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization   Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail   Highly motivated and eager to learn   Strong computer skills   Ability to relocate, if not local  The summer internship will run from the third week of May through the first week of August. These dates may be changed to meet the needs of the student.
