Overview Hussmann's Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader in the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann. As a Safety Intern in the 2027 Hussmann Summer Internship Program, you will support the EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) team by conducting field audits, developing training materials, and assisting with incident investigations. Responsibilities Update and maintain safety documentation to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Promote and reinforce a proactive, prevention‑focused safety culture across the organization. Work with the safety team on ongoing safety efforts throughout the manufacturing plant. Work with safety team to Identify potential hazards in the workplace and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Develop, revise, or create safety procedures, manuals, and related documentation as needed. Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events Compete in our annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation. Qualifications Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (safety, environmental, or engineering program preferred). Minimum 3.0 GPA Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and work in industrial environments Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail Highly motivated and eager to learn Strong computer skills Ability to relocate, if not local Closing Date: October 31, 2026 Compensation: $25.00 per hour The summer internship will run from the third week of May through the first week of August. These dates may be changed to meet the needs of the student.
