Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Clearfield, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
Successful candidate will work to perform Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer functions associated with design, fabrication, and inspection of materials/components used in the production of aerospace materials and hardware, in both onsite production and supplier facilities. Will interface with suppliers, customers (including government e.g. NASA, Navy, DCMA), work associates/teams, and management. Requires ability to work autonomously at suppliers as a representative of the company. Must have ability to study, understand, and apply stringent procedures to assigned duties.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems
- Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance
- Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures
- Develop inspection criteria for supplier inspection plans and receiving inspection plans
- Conducts product and process verification activities and monitors supplier quality against established performance metrics
- Drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues
- Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list
- Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process
- Supports Mission Assurance plan implementation at suppliers through all program phases
- Manage implementation of Supplier Mission Assurance processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (i.e. Key and Critical)
- Development and execution of risk assessments and mitigation plans and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs
- Apply rigorous problem solving/critical thinking methodologies to support and resolve issues with procured items
- Other duties as assigned
This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Strong communication and team-building skills
- Understanding and regular use of GD&T principles for design and inspection processes
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Strong communication and team-building skills
- Understanding and regular use of GD&T principles for design and inspection processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Supplier Quality roles in the aerospace/defense industry
- Knowledge of MRP system functions and inventory tracking principles (Costpoint or SAP preferred)
- Knowledge of AI systems for use in simplifying and automating daily work tasks

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
