Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Shipping Quality Assurance Lead Inspector based out of Elkridge, MD.
The successful candidate must have the ability and willingness to work at both the Elkridge and Halethorpe sites, including driving between sites on some days for Shipping Inspection needs.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Perform Shipping Inspection needs
Submit contract end item product as required
Inspect shipment and shipping paperwork such as government/customer shipping documents, packaging and preservation information using applicable specifications. Some interface with contracts personnel is also required for shipping process
Evaluate in-process and complete sub-assemblies and systems and identify defects in accordance with governing documentation
Perform inspections using tooling and check-off lists for the complete inspection of sub-assemblies and systems
Conduct inspections of complex components to determine visual and dimensional checks that contribute to, or cause, defects
Visually inspect for appropriate electrical assembly specifications and standards
Review metrics, procedures, and techniques used to inspect materials, parts, units, and/or systems that improperly passed inspection
Perform ISO Audits as required by site compliance assessments
Perform as a Quality Process Control Aide in an AS-9100 process-oriented organization
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of experience working within the Defense Industry, Quality, Inspection, Shipping and/or Manufacturing
Experience using SAP
Experience in electromechanical assembly
Experience with shipping/packaging requirements
Experience using CADSTAR to review engineering drawings
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US Government Secret Security Clearance
AS 9100
Experience interfacing with DoD customers
Experience within a quality inspection capacity
Primary Level Salary Range: $54,517.00 - $132,658.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
