Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Assured File Transfer (AFT) Lead Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

The Staff Assured File Transfer (AFT) Lead Engineer will lead a cross-discipline team of engineers. The Technical Lead will assess the criticality of the information based on the designs and other various documents to determine the proper level of classification for the program. In this role they will be responsible for establishing sound technical rigor for the AFT process providing definition and governance specific to the AFT process.

The Technical Lead will provide senior engineering-level contributions and leadership for a wide-ranging suite of COTS electrical and mechanical components. The Technical Lead will provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and is responsible for standardizing the training program for the Hardware team as it relates to the Programs Security Classification Guide. Overall systems knowledge for the architecture and requirements to ensure they understand the classification of the various levels of the system

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree in STEM field; 10 years with Masters; 8 years with PhD.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • 10+ years of CAD experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar.
  • 4+ years of ICBM experience.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering concepts including requirements and architecture development, and tools such as DOORS and Cameo.
  • Experience with Common Product Lifecycle Management tools such as Siemens Teamcenter.
  • Need experience with SE tools to verify program requirements and architecture.
  • Experience with Nuclear Safety design requirements and constraints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with structural and stress analysis of mechanical components, including analysis of Abaqus models
  • Experience with Pin-to-Pin analysis for electrical/electromechanical components
  • Experience with physical security system hardware including Radar, Lidar, Cameras, and Motion Sensors
  • Familiar with DoD 5210.41M standards as applied to physical security system design
  • Experience with GD&T to the ASME Y14.5-2009 standards
  • Experience with AFI 31-101 standards for physical security design

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
