We are seeking a Technical Program Manager II to join the Finance Data & Experiences (FD&E) organization and lead strategic reporting modernization and business transformation initiatives across Microsoft Finance. In this role, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex programs that improve financial reporting, automate business processes, and enable better business decisions through modern data and analytics solutions. You will work across Finance, Engineering, Data Platform, and Business Operations teams to define vision, align stakeholders, manage execution, and drive measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong program management skills, business acumen, technical depth, and stakeholder influence. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that simplify reporting experiences, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate Microsoft's finance transformation journey. Responsibilities

Role Purpose

Lead the delivery of data, AI, and automation solutions that simplify finance operations, improve decision-making, and increase organizational productivity. This role works closely with engineering, data, and business teams to design, build, and scale modern solutions using Microsoft's data and AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery of data, analytics, AI, and automation initiatives supporting Finance Transformation objectives.

  • Partner with engineering teams to define requirements, technical roadmaps, and implementation plans.

  • Build and scale solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Copilot, and related technologies.

  • Develop data-driven approaches to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.

  • Define telemetry, success metrics, and continuous improvement mechanisms.

  • Coordinate cross-functional execution across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and accelerate adoption of AI-enabled workflows.

  • Support experimentation, prototyping, and transition of successful solutions into scalable production capabilities.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Additional or preferred qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. 

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos). 

  • Experience leading large-scale business or technical transformation programs.

  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable business outcomes through cross-functional leadership.

  • Experience with finance, business operations, process improvement, or enterprise transformation initiatives.

  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
