Lead, Server Rack Components Supply Chain
Meta is seeking a Planning & Capacity Engineer to join the Capacity Planning & Delivery team to focus on planning optimization for Meta’s server and network rack supply chain. This role will focus on creating and optimizing supply chain plans at various altitudes to balance capacity, flexibility, supply capability, and cost, from base components to finished goods, in an environment of continual product introduction, directly managing billions of investments annually. We will do this primarily by building software and mathematical optimization models. The team is uniquely positioned to develop and optimize these capacity plans and scalably manage exceptions at the most strategic levels with company level impact.
This role is cross-functional and provides an opportunity to work with a variety of engineering and business teams to power the rapid growth of Meta’s products. This role will help to ensure optimal deployment and operation of our infrastructure from both a cost and a technology perspective, with millions of servers, gigawatts of data center capacity, and cutting-edge technology including advanced AI.
Responsibilities
Own infrastructure supply chain planning for Meta (as part of Meta’s overall capacity plan) across all components of server and network racks Design improvements to software systems to improve supply chain planning efficiency and quality, partner with software engineers to implement and contribute code yourself Develop and analyze business and technical data and scenarios to drive executive decisions around infrastructure supply and spend Contribute to end to end supply chain planning processes (as part of Meta’s overall capacity plan), methodologies, and data to deliver an executable and optimized supply plan Manage and resolve critical escalations and exceptions in all areas of the supply chain Develop models that drive supply flexibility and optionality to best balance the delivery of required capacity, cost, and risk Build mathematical models to perform simulation and optimization studies of demand projections, scenario planning, and gap closure analysis while balancing constraints, product mix, and inventory costs Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models, and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the most strategic levels Partner across Infra - platform teams, server hardware engineering, network engineering, data center engineering, operations, capacity planning, networking planning, data center planning, energy - to find the most optimal ways to build and scale our infrastructure Partner with Finance to balance cost efficiency with technical, product, and supply chain considerations Mentor a team of commodity planners
