About the role Responsible for the building and repair of new and existing dies, tooling, and automation components. Responsibilities include providing support to the production departments by assisting in solving problems and repairing existing tooling and automation in a safe manner and within quality standards. Responsibilities Assures all safety guarding is in place and all areas of the machines are clean, neat, and organized Interprets tooling specifications, blueprints, and sketches Plans sequence of operations for fabricating components Sets up and operates mills, lathes, grinders, including CNC controlled, and other machining equipment Makes and repairs cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges Fits, assembles, and trouble shoots dies, molds, and assembly equipment Takes direction from experienced toolmakers and department manager Analyzes the assignment and proceeds in a professional, timely manner Completes assignments in a timely manner and within proper quality specifications Informs Toolmaker II and Engineering of project progress and completion Additional responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Skills Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Ability to use precise measuring instruments Ability to perform hot work activities requiring a hot work permit Ability to communicate clearly Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to apply problem solving skills Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook at a basic level Ability to communicate in verbal and written English Physical Requirements Requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, pushing, pulling, and feeling Requires eye/hand/foot coordination Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions Education & Experience Education High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree in a technical field preferred Tool and Die Journeyman preferred Experience Minimum of 3 years experience in tooling field preferred Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience preferred Travel No travel is anticipated What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
