About the role Responsible for coordinating resources and supervising the manufacturing of scheduled production. Responsibilities include ensuring that scheduled production requirements are met within set budget requirements in a safe manner and within quality standards. Responsibilities Operates the department in a manner that supports established budgets for volume, scrap and labor Investigates system and process related problems, recommends and implements corrective actions Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition Develops and maintains daily metrics of production goals vs. achievements. Analyzes shortfalls and document the causes. Takes immediate steps to remove obstacles to meeting production goals Implements and supervises adherence to all company policies, including but not limited to, safety, attendance, training, preventive maintenance, Quality and the employee handbook Performs supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, assigning work, evaluating and rewarding performance Performs audits on Preventive Maintenance (PM), in-process checks, changeover log, line organization (5S), line scrap and production boards Drives process improvement, sees that all projects have accountability, and that promise dates are met Assists with root cause analyses and 8D where applicable Oversees established bill of material and WIP inventory In coordination with other departments, develops and maintains procedures and instructions in an ISO 9001 environment and ensures that each production employee is abiding by the procedures in place Provides leadership which models an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuousimprovement, meeting commitments and attainment of Leviton’s mission and goals Establishes and maintains regular and open communication with staff Develops employees by regularly providing constructive feedback, coaching as necessary and providing professional development opportunities to ensure productivity, responsibility, performance and job satisfaction Practices a participative management style that advocates teamwork Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Ability to demonstrate leadership, provide tactical supervision, and effectively delegate prioritized work assignments to subordinate staff Ability to attend to details, multi-task, and handle multiple priorities without undue stress or errors Ability to educate team members on procedures and requirements Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks independently or with proper discretion Ability to exercise independent judgement with limited instruction and/or guidance Ability to identify areas for improvement and work with management to initiate plans Working knowledge of mechanical, automated and work cell manufacturing equipment and processes Working knowledge of Lean and ergonomic concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a basic level Ability to communicate in verbal and written English Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Two-year associate degree, preferred Minimum of five years manufacturing experience Minimum two years supervisory experience Travel Up to 10% may be required What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
