About the role The Master Scheduler II is responsible for timely planning of a broad range of MTS & MTO items necessary to support company requirements for sustaining production in an efficient, cost effective manner while maintaining quality standards at all times. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels in accordance with inventory turns and line fill goals while mitigating risk of excess inventory through the items’ life cycle. This position works under moderate supervision. Responsibilities Organize the production scheduling process to optimize production output and lower labor costs while maintaining a high on-time delivery and service (i.e. level loading where possible) Define and implement a production schedule that incorporates all pertinent resources, involving personnel, materials, delivery, available capacities, shifts, etc. Implement contingency plans with Customer Service, Purchasing and Manufacturing when inventory availability commitments are at risk and initiate work-around activities Close collaboration with Customer Service, Demand Planning, Purchasing & Manufacturing Facilitate daily Production Status Meeting with Customer Service, Purchasing, Quality and Manufacturing Monitors Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) to ensure smooth transition of any required changes while mitigating any potential risk of build-up on old inventory Oversees and corrects any balances on jobs or shortages Additional duties as assigned Qualifications Skills - Technical Must have the ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Must have the ability to “proactively” identify and solve “highly complex” problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel is required Oracle knowledge preferred Ability to manage improvement projects Skills – Behavioral Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders Problem-Solver – Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions Teamwork – Ability to work well in a team environment that fosters collaboration and cooperation Attention to Detail – Ensure accuracy in work product, documentation, and processes to maintain high standards Analytical Skills – Analyze data to make informed decisions Education & Experience Education Bachelor's Degree preferred Certification in APICS, ISM or LEAN is a plus Experience Minimum 3 years’ related experience in purchasing, supply chain and / or demand planning Experience in multi-functional and new product teams preferred Travel Less than 10% What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
