Your Responsibilities
As a Product Design Engineer - Hydraulic Systems for JD Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will develop mobile hydraulic systems and sub-systems for new product development programs to achieve performance, efficiency, quality, financial, and schedule goals. In addition, you will:
Lead the design for hydraulic pumps, power control, hydraulic valves, and fluid conveyance components
Create product design guidelines, design books, drawings, and component technical specifications
Diagnose hydraulic system issues during new product development and support test activities
Support physical builds, production launches, testing, and customer field evaluations

What Skills You Need
Experience in a Product Engineering Design environment
Experience with product development processes
Strong desire and ability to learn and apply hydraulic system/component design principles to ongoing design activities
Experience with 3D modeling tools, such as CREO and SOLIDWORKS
Demonstrated experience and ability to analyze technical data, consider multiple alternatives, and provide data-driven decisions/recommendations
Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and internationally, up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out
Familiarity with construction, agriculture, or forestry equipment|
Experience and technical depth with mobile hydraulic component design, testing, or analysis
Cross-functional experience related to verification, performance evaluation, software, and/or manufacturing teams
Working knowledge of John Deere product development processes
Experience collaborating with external suppliers
Experience leading a project team
Ability to leverage data analysis, systems modeling, and data acquisition tools such as: Excel, MATLAB, or Simulink to complete development tasks
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline
