We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.
Overview
This role leads a team of five to ten electromechanical technicians building powertrains and electronics to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals. Joby’s production team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. Come help us build advanced powertrains and electronics as we transform transportation.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe work environment
- Be the first line of support for the team
- Determine who on the team will take action, and when, to build what (utilizing production planners and kanban replenishment signals)
- Own problems’ escalations and resolutions, collaborating closely with production supervisors, maintenance, planners, inventory specialists, quality inspectors, and engineers
- Lead 5S and 4S+S activities and reporting for the team’s area
- Achieve training sign-off on multiple production processes to build and troubleshoot with the team
Required
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work assignments
- Ability to think strategically and prioritize work assignments to meet goals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computing skills
- Ability to lift 25-30 lbs
Desired
- 2+ years of experience leading teams of people in a production or R&D environment
- Prior experience with complex electromechanical assembly and testing
- Familiarity with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Additional Information
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $27-$37/hr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
