The opportunity

Kick-start your engineering career with Hitachi Energy’s Transformers Business Unit as an Associate Controls Engineer. This exciting opportunity offers hands-on experience, structured learning, and meaningful project work that supports our transformer components manufacturing operations. During the training period, you will be based in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, where you will gain exposure to engineering design processes, manufacturing operations, and the technologies that power a more sustainable energy future.

You will be immersed in a tailored development experience designed to strengthen your technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and leadership capabilities. Working alongside experienced professionals, mentors, and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to real business challenges while building a strong foundation in product design and manufacturing support.

How you'll make an impact

  • Learn the fundamentals of Hitachi Energy’s Transformers and Components business, product portfolio, manufacturing processes, and operations.
  • Participate in challenging projects that expand your engineering knowledge and practical experience.
  • Support product design and engineering activities that contribute to manufacturing excellence.
  • Take ownership of learning objectives and project deliverables throughout the training program.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and drive continuous improvement.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Two (2) or more years of relevant industry experience; internship and co-op experience will be considered.
  • Authorization to work in the United States that permits employment with Hitachi Energy.
  • Interest in the energy, manufacturing, or industrial technology sectors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; experience with AutoCAD 2D/3D modeling is a plus.
