Summary:
The “Mechanical Engineer” will be based in Austin, Texas reporting to Reynantes Manango.
What a typical day looks like:
Responsible for mechanical design, verification and implementation of innovative and cost-effective product solutions of varying scope to meet customer requirements from development of concept prototypes and architecture, through the product development process, into full-scale production.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Define mechanical product architecture, system, subsystem and part design(s) with the target to meet the relevant requirements;
Simulate, analyse and/or calculate design solution performance and verify this by feasibility, characterization and/or verification testing;
Support the creation of (a) product, system and/or mechanical design requirement document(s);
Lead and/or execute the mechanical system, subsystem and part design of products starting from requirement specification up to transfer into manufacturing including fabrication, testing, verification and validation of engineering prototypes;
Work in or lead a team of mechanical engineers, that is part of a project team, in design and development of more and more miniaturized systems that often will contain electro-mechanical and/or electronics components;
Work within project teams including NPI, tool engineering and advanced sourcing that provides product development services to Flex Customers adopting time and cost-effective solutions;
Investigate new technologies and trends, assisting in generating production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectations in close relationship with vendors;
Implement design solutions and improvements that optimize manufacturability and assembly in production using DfX, TA and design review processes while minimizing CoGS cost of goods sold;
Deliver high quality technical reports and design output supported by simulations analysis and/or lab tests when applicable.
Apply complex design practices and procedures to assigned product portfolio in areas like sheet metal design/fabrication, soft tooling processes (sheet metal stamping/fabrication, tig/mig/spot welding) and equipment; telecom, data center infrastructure products such as chassis, cabinets, racks, shelving, etc.

The base pay range for this position is provided below. The final base rate offered will be determined using job-related, non-discriminatory criteria, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity.
$120,000.00 USD - $165,000.00 USD Annual
