Our Airborne RF Electronics EE Department has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer - Test Software with strong experience in automated test systems, diagnostic software, and production test support. We are seeking candidates who can lead, collaborate, and coordinate across our manufacturing facility, program leadership, quality, and engineering teams to proactively and efficiently resolve issues that arise during test, integration, and production.

In this role, you will drive a culture of trust, transparency, compliance, diversity, inclusion, and accountability. This position is part of the Processing Production Design Support section supporting a classified Airborne Radar program.

What You Will Do:

• Develop, maintain, and improve automated test software used for production acceptance and diagnostic test
• Ensure Test Equipment is operable, reliable, and yielding optimal test coverage and throughput
• Perform technical evaluations of hardware and software-driven test results; categorize failures and create systematic, data-driven dispositions
• Identify, prioritize, and execute test process and software improvement opportunities
• Provide regular status updates to program leadership regarding test performance, failures, and corrective actions
• Create and update test procedures, technical documentation, and software release artifacts
• Periodically travel to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, or customer sites to support test and production activities (up to 25%)

What You Will Learn:

• Conducting failure investigations and providing recommendations to address systemic issues and to prevent recurrence
• Fault isolation / troubleshooting at the system to WRA/LRU/Sub-system level
• Gain experience with Digital Electronics that apply to Advanced Airborne Radars

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and/or supporting automated test systems within a production or engineering environment
• Experience with testing automation languages such as LabVIEW or LUA
• Experience with analyzing technical test data, logs, and diagnostic outputs to enable precise fault isolation and effective troubleshooting at the system, WRA/LRU, and subsystem levels.
• Active and transferable US Government issued Secret security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Understanding of Python, C/C++, or similar scripting languages, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize test software interfacing with digital hardware systems.
• Experience conducting failure investigations and providing recommendations to address systemic issues and to prevent recurrence
• Experience integrating hardware with test software or scripting interfaces
• Experience in manufacturing, integration and test, and/or diagnostic engineering

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
