The RF, ASIC & MMIC Design Department is seeking a talented Principal RF Engineer to join our renowned RF design team in McKinney, TX.

Job Summary: As the Principal Engineering Project Lead, you will drive cross-functional programs, leveraging both technical expertise and project management skills to deliver mission-critical solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful execution across the entire product lifecycle—spanning design, fabrication, testing, integration, and transition to production—of complex RF subassemblies or RF Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) that support radar and electronic warfare (EW) systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with experience in full product lifecycle management, who is passionate about technical innovation, team coordination, and solving complex challenges.

This is an onsite role based in McKinney, TX.

What You Will Do:

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure all RF efforts meet program goals and requirements.
• Interface with customers, chief engineers, and technical leads to understand needs and set priorities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful execution throughout the design, fabrication, rework, testing, integration, and transition to production phases.
• Drive decision-making, track progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Work in a lab or production environment to accomplish CCA/Sub-system/Test set development, verification, troubleshooting, and integration.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to include any combination of the following:
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex hardware and system-level development (e.g., RF, radar, electronic warfare, RF/Digital CCAs, or similar).
  • Technical expertise with hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle.
  • Experience with program management tools such as Microsoft Project and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Experience with RF technologies, including receivers, Analog-to-Digital Converters, transmitters, and frequency synthesizers.
• Experience with any combination of the following tools: Signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, Xpedition Schematic/Layout Tool or equivalent, SystemVue/Genesys or equivalent, Advanced Design System (ADS) or equivalent, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) or equivalent.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Highly self-motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while effectively collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, track progress, and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Background in collaborating with factory, operations, supply chain, and quality teams to facilitate product builds or rework.
• Technical knowledge in RF/Digital mixed-signal CCAs, including hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in preparing technical documentation and communicating effectively with customers and program leadership.
• Experience in writing CDRLs, proposals, and developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs).

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
