Collins Aerospace is seeking a NPI Project Engineer II who will lead and coordinate cross-functional activities supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing readiness, and the transition of new products into production. As an NPI Project Engineer II, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project plans, tracking milestones, coordinating activities across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functional organizations, and ensuring project commitments are achieved.

Your mission: to drive successful product introductions by managing project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risks while ensuring manufacturing and operational requirements are met. You will play a key role in identifying roadblocks, coordinating production readiness activities, supporting engineering changes, and communicating project status to stakeholders and leadership.

This onsite position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Create and maintain project plans for assigned NPI projects, tracking milestones, deliverables, schedules, and commitments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, and other functional organizations.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project status, priorities, risks, issues, and required actions to project teams and leadership.
  • Coordinate production readiness activities, including material availability, tooling and fixtures, SMT program status, stencil designs, thermal profiling, and other manufacturing requirements.
  • Support change management activities, including Deviations, Change Requests (CRs), CDRs, and other product or process changes.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate project risks, roadblocks, schedule impacts, and other issues that may affect successful NPI execution.
  • Partner with NPI and Producibility Engineering teams to ensure products and processes meet manufacturability and production requirements.
  • Track project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and resource constraints and develop mitigation plans when requirements are at risk.
  • Support eCARs, WBS requests, business case activities, and other documentation required for NPI and post-award efforts.
  • Drive root cause analysis, mistake-proofing, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring a smooth transition from product development to production release.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product development, production launch, or manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and driving effective corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production readiness, and engineering change management.
  • Experience utilizing SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Experience with project management methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of cost management, financial analysis, and business case development.
  • Experience coordinating tooling, fixtures, materials, equipment, or other production readiness requirements.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, mistake-proofing, 5S, or Lean Manufacturing principles.
