Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer II/III at our Lynnwood, WA location.

This is an on-site position and will require travelling to visit suppliers.

Job Summary:

The Supplier Quality Engineer III operates with minimal supervision, leveraging originality, ingenuity, and established procedures to support the Crane Supplier Quality Management Strategy. This role is responsible for developing and implementing supplier quality improvement and monitoring processes to enhance supplier performance, product quality, and business qualifications with Crane.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain

    leade

    r

    and other leadership team members to establish annual supplier quality objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Supplier Scorecard to monitor supplier quality, delivery, and other performance metrics.

  • Lead supplier Quarterly Business Reviews by assisting the Supply Chain team in evaluating supplier performance, monitoring corrective action status, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work closely with site Quality teams and suppliers to address quality issues, ensuring corrective actions are effectively managed and root cause analyses are conducted.

  • Conduct assessments of suppliers’ quality systems and process control capabilities, driving the implementation of improvement plans.

  • Train and collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement quality control plans for assigned commodities.

  • Perform first article and first batch audit inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Any other

    tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management

Non-Essential Functions

  • Prepare

    management reports and presentations regarding quality status and supplier performance

  • Support

    Material Review Board (MRB)

  • Actively engage and understand trends in the industry’s approach to quality and new approaches    that may provide benefit to BU

Minimum Qualifications

:

  • Experience

    :

    3+

    years

    of

    related experience

    ;

    Previous experience working in regulated environment with a preference of FAA CFR 14 part 21 and part 145

  • Knowledge

    :

    Broad knowledge of the marketplace and manufacturing technologies; In depth knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance metrics; Knowledge of the latest quality science tools including, FMEA, GR&R, Control plans, Capability study and reduction of variations; Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models; Exposure to

    lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc);

    Knows and applies advanced concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Skills/Abilities

    :

    Demonstrated

    analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely,

    effective, fact based decisions;

    Demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams

  • Education/Certification

    :

    BA or BS degree in technical discipline

  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). FAA sensitive position – may be subject to a government security investigation to verify eligibility for access to classified information.

Preferred Qualifications

:

  • ASQC certifications and knowledge of SPC

  • Le

    an/Six Sigma certification (black belt or green belt)

Working Conditions

:

  • Standard office environment 

  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

  • Travel up to 40% required

Salary range:

Level II: $94,500.00 - $112,700.00

Level III: $127,600.00 - $149,100.00

Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
