THE ROLE:
AMD’s Strategic Silicon Solutions group
is responsible for
custom silicon for advanced gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As a
Post-Silicon Power and Performance Validation Engineer
you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom silicon products meet
power and
performance
targets and are
optimized
for customer use cases.
Y
ou will interact with architecture,
firmware, driver
, and other teams to
develop
test plans
for
new product feature
s
, execute studies
in a lab environment
, and analyze data
to
validate
that
the product meets specifications.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will have
experience in power or performance attainment of
features of
CPU, GPU, or APUs
.
This person should thrive in a matrixed environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop
test plans
in collaboration
with
architects, firmware, and
IP-specific engineering teams to ensure products meet or exceed performance targets
.
Work with architects and the business team to support
current and potential future products.
Execute power and performance studies to support business development
.
Validate and tune product
features post-silicon.
Set up
and debug systems under test
.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience
validating
power or performance features
of
CPU
s
, GPU
s
, or APU
s
.
Familiarity with
graphics, core, and gaming-focused workloads
.
Familiarity with the
use of
data acquisition
and thermal equipment.
Experience analyzing
and presenting
data
using Power BI, Sigma, or similar
.
Experience working in a
fast
-
paced
,
matrixed
,
and multi-site technical organization
.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s
or
Master’s
in Computer Engineering
, Electrical Engineering, Computer
Science
or equivalent experience.
