Senior Software Test Automation Engineer
,

Design
ing
, cod
ing
, and
maintain
ing
automated tests for server-side software components, APIs, services, and integrations.
Develop
ing
and enhanc
ing
reusable automation frameworks, test utilities, mock services, and validation tools.
Appling security best practices, including encryption and secure communications, across system design and implementation.
Troubleshooting and
optimizing
software performance, reliability, and interoperability across hardware and software interfaces.
Identif
ying
, document
ing
, troubleshoot
ing
, and
track
ing
software defects in collaboration with development teams.
Provid
ing
technical leadership on a cross-functional team and
contribute
to engineering best practices
appropriate for
a mid-senior level role.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M
requires
(at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
or higher
in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology,
Electrical
Engineering
or a related technical field
(completed and verified prior to start)
from an accredited institution.
Seven
(
7
) years of
software development experience including
coding automated tests for server-side or backend software systems
in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional
qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master’s
degree in
Computer Science
, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical
Engineering
or a related technical field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Experience testing APIs, services, databases, and distributed software systems.
Have
a working knowledge of industrial automation protocols such as CIP, OPC-UA,
and MQTT.
Experience with C/C++ and embedded applications.
Understanding of
low-latency, time-critical network communications over Wi-Fi
Ability to work effectively across a broad technology stack and to coordinate with external development resources.
P
roficiency
with AI software development tools

This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
