Responsibilities
- Design, build, and run electro-mechanical testers for reliability of components like batteries, motors, and propellers.
- Design tests and setups to meet engineering specifications, including data acquisition and diagnostics.
- Use CAD tools to design parts and fixtures based on engineering principles.
- Develop concepts and evaluate tradeoffs using a first principles approach.
- Create prototypes and conduct tests to gather insights quickly.
- Collaborate with other teams and suppliers to review designs.
- Document work for clarity on key decisions made.
Job Requirements
- Experience designing and building mechatronics systems outside of the classroom.
- Solid mechanical engineering fundamentals for part sizing and integration.
- Automation experience with actuators and Raspberry Pi or similar devices.
- Proficiency in CAD with multiple project designs.
- Ability to work on complex projects involving mechanical, electrical, and software design.
- Strong communication and planning skills with a proactive attitude.
- Willingness to adapt and simplify approaches when necessary.
