Responsibilities
- Design, build, and run electro-mechanical testers for components like batteries, motors, and propellers.
- Develop and interpret test procedures and setups, including data acquisition and diagnostics.
- Use CAD tools to design parts and fixtures based on engineering principles.
- Evaluate design concepts and tradeoffs using a first principles approach.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to review designs with other teams and suppliers.
- Conduct root cause analysis for failures and develop replication tests.
- Document work clearly for team understanding.
Job Requirements
- Experience designing and building mechatronics systems outside the classroom.
- Solid mechanical engineering fundamentals for part sizing and integration.
- Automation experience with actuators and similar technologies.
- Proficiency in CAD with multiple project designs.
- Ability to adapt quickly and communicate effectively with the team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Capability to anticipate, plan, and schedule work effectively.
