Responsibilities
- Develop novel mechanical designs that meet functional requirements and can withstand severe environments.
- Oversee designs through all phases of the product design process: Design, Build, Test, Repeat, Scale.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, inspectable, and scalable for production.
- Collaborate with software, integration, production, suppliers, and testing teams to ensure hardware functionality.
- Utilize CAD tools for system-level ownership of designs involving multiple parts.
- Provide solutions for structural components and mechanisms, including identifying loads and creating test setups.
- Engage in prototyping and quick iterations on owned projects.
Job Requirements
- 3-12+ years of experience designing electromechanical and structural assemblies.
- Proven track record on complex subassemblies or full systems across product programs.
- Proficiency in CAD for designing multi-part systems.
- Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and working with suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, FEA, and design for assembly.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with safety margins for critical applications.
