Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle design analysis including aerodynamics, propulsion, and power system performance.
- Perform low- and high-fidelity analytical modeling of vehicle subsystems and behaviors.
- Generate aerodynamic databases and analyze flight behaviors.
- Plan, execute, and analyze experiments from wind tunnels to flight tests.
- Support a multidisciplinary team in tackling design challenges.
- Collaborate with controls, mechanical, production, software, and electrical engineers.
- Learn and utilize various modeling and analysis tools.
Job Requirements
- Studying fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, flight physics, or aeronautical engineering.
- Strong understanding of technical content in relevant courses.
- Experience with aerodynamic modeling codes and computational fluid dynamics tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, Julia, or C/C++.
- Knowledge of CAD advanced surfacing tools (e.g., CATIA or NX).
- Ability to work in-person at the South San Francisco office.
- Willingness to travel within California for certain testing programs.
