Responsibilities

  • Conduct vehicle design analysis including aerodynamics, propulsion, and power system performance.
  • Perform low- and high-fidelity analytical modeling of vehicle subsystems and behaviors.
  • Generate aerodynamic databases and analyze flight behaviors.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze experiments from wind tunnels to flight tests.
  • Support a multidisciplinary team in tackling design challenges.
  • Collaborate with controls, mechanical, production, software, and electrical engineers.
  • Learn and utilize various modeling and analysis tools.

Job Requirements

  • Studying fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, flight physics, or aeronautical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of technical content in relevant courses.
  • Experience with aerodynamic modeling codes and computational fluid dynamics tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, Julia, or C/C++.
  • Knowledge of CAD advanced surfacing tools (e.g., CATIA or NX).
  • Ability to work in-person at the South San Francisco office.
  • Willingness to travel within California for certain testing programs.
