Manufacturing Design Engineer II (NPI)

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing technical readiness across NPI builds through process development and validation.
  • Partner with engineering teams and contract manufacturers to deliver DFX feedback focused on automated assembly systems.
  • Support prototype build preparation and execution, including assembly procedures and fixture development.
  • Coordinate with factory teams on the design and qualification of fixtures and automated manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation such as drawings and work instructions.
  • Conduct failure analysis and apply structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet product specifications and quality requirements through data-driven controls.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in consumer electronics with automated assembly systems.
  • Knowledge of injection molding, metals, ceramics, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes including adhesive bonding and battery assembly.
  • Familiarity with MES systems and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for fixture and tooling design.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
