Responsibilities
- Perform design and analyses for repair, modification, and qualification of components within the primary pressure boundary of nuclear power plants.
- Utilize analysis tools such as finite element simulations and engineering calculations for component design qualification.
- Collaborate with component, system, and manufacturing leads on subsystem integration and design issues.
- Develop project schedules in coordination with project managers and subsystem/component leads.
- Identify technical risks and challenges, directing efforts for resolution.
- Provide technical guidance and collaborate with external partners, including national laboratories and suppliers.
- Support plant refueling outages, which may require extended hours and overnight work.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Engineering Mechanics, or Aerospace preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in component structural analysis or thermo hydraulics.
- Proficiency in analysis tools like Ansys and familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to nuclear reactors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on loosely defined challenges.
- Experience in project management and scheduling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including 12-hour shifts during critical project phases.
