Responsibilities

  • Perform design and analyses for repair, modification, and qualification of components within the primary pressure boundary of nuclear power plants.
  • Utilize analysis tools such as finite element simulations and engineering calculations for component design qualification.
  • Collaborate with component, system, and manufacturing leads on subsystem integration and design issues.
  • Develop project schedules in coordination with project managers and subsystem/component leads.
  • Identify technical risks and challenges, directing efforts for resolution.
  • Provide technical guidance and collaborate with external partners, including national laboratories and suppliers.
  • Support plant refueling outages, which may require extended hours and overnight work.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Engineering Mechanics, or Aerospace preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in component structural analysis or thermo hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in analysis tools like Ansys and familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to nuclear reactors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on loosely defined challenges.
  • Experience in project management and scheduling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including 12-hour shifts during critical project phases.
