Responsibilities

  • Perform design and analyses for repair, modification, and qualification of components within the primary pressure boundary of nuclear power plants.
  • Utilize analysis tools like finite element simulations and engineering calculations for component design qualification.
  • Collaborate with component, system, and manufacturing leads to integrate subsystems and resolve design issues.
  • Work with project managers to develop project schedules.
  • Identify and manage technical risks and challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and collaborate with various partners including national laboratories and suppliers.
  • Support plant refueling outages, which may require extended hours and overnight work.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, preferably in Mechanical, Engineering Mechanics, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in component structural analysis or thermo hydraulics.
  • Experience with industry, regulatory, or NRC/DOE/ASME codes relevant to nuclear reactors.
  • Proficiency in using analysis tools for engineering calculations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and manage project schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and engineering thoughtfulness.
  • Willingness to support extended work hours during plant outages.
