Responsibilities
- End-to-end ownership of power electronics specification, architecture, simulation, schematic capture, PCB design, mechanical packaging design, board-level bring-up and validation, environmental qualification, and integrated system-level validation.
- Design circuits for power conversion, load switching, hot-swapping, power conditioning, inrush control, and over-current fault detection.
- Perform failure modes and effects analyses and drive reliability design and validation plans at the system level.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design challenges.
- Ensure compliance with spaceflight environment requirements during design and testing.
- Document design processes and results for future reference and compliance.
- Support mission milestones by working overtime or weekends as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field completed or expected by June 2026.
- Experience in developing power electronics.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to assess risk with incomplete data.
- Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition tools (e.g., SPICE, SQL).
- Knowledge of software programming (Matlab, Python, C/C++).
- Familiarity with vehicle and instrumentation buses (Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C).
- Strong communication skills and a sense of accountability.
