Power Electronics Engineer I

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of power electronics specification, architecture, simulation, schematic capture, PCB design, mechanical packaging design, board-level bring-up and validation, environmental qualification, and integrated system-level validation.
  • Design circuits for power conversion, load switching, hot-swapping, power conditioning, inrush control, and over-current fault detection.
  • Perform failure modes and effects analyses and drive reliability design and validation plans at the system level.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess risk and make design decisions.
  • Engage in full-lifecycle product development and environmental testing for spaceflight.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and contribute to team goals.
  • Be willing to work overtime or weekends to meet critical mission milestones.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field completed or expected by June 2026.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing power electronics.
  • Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and software programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, C/C++).
  • Familiarity with vehicle and instrumentation buses (Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C).
  • Experience designing electronics for spaceflight environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in an early-stage startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
