Responsibilities
- Define requirements for interior subsystems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Select and validate materials considering various safety and performance factors.
- Create and iterate designs using sketching, CAD, and prototyping.
- Ensure integration with engineering teams regarding structural interfaces and loads.
- Develop test plans and conduct qualification testing for various mechanical properties.
- Collaborate with suppliers to translate designs into manufacturable products.
- Document design decisions and maintain a material tracker.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience with soft goods in aerospace or vehicle interiors.
- Knowledge of soft good manufacturing processes.
- Ability to travel occasionally and support hands-on build/installation as needed.
