Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to define requirements for interior subsystems.
- Collaborate with the design team to select and validate materials considering various factors.
- Create and iterate designs through sketching, CAD, prototyping, and testing.
- Ensure integration with engineering teams for attachment details and load considerations.
- Develop and oversee testing plans and perform qualification tests.
- Work with suppliers to translate designs into manufacturable products.
- Document design decisions and maintain a material tracker.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to work in ambiguity and meet tight schedules.
- 3-5 years of experience with soft goods or textiles preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for soft goods is a plus.
