Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of stratospheric flight including pre-flight checks, in-flight piloting, and post-flight diagnostics.
- Serve as Flight Director, coordinating with air traffic control for seamless operations.
- Address off-nominal scenarios during flights using engineering judgment.
- Guide field teams remotely during launches and landings.
- Act as an expert on Mission Control software and suggest improvements.
- Develop safety policies and training documentation for external Mission Controllers.
- Coordinate customer programs and train future Mission Controllers for the DoD.
Job Requirements
- Background in hardware, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
- Hands-on experience with high-altitude platforms or UAV operations.
- Familiarity with air traffic control and FAA regulations.
- Experience with real-time operational software or command-and-control systems.
- Ability to bridge engineering and customer support, especially with DoD clients.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and located near Denver, CO or willing to relocate.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
