Responsibilities
- Perform CAD work for mobile robotic platforms and manipulators.
- Integrate 3rd party electromechanical devices into designs.
- Design custom brackets with emphasis on manufacturing processes.
- Fit electrical components within robot chassis and navigation stacks.
- Create modular mounting systems and access panels for maintenance.
- Wire components, design cable runs, and select connectors.
- Generate engineering drawings and maintain documentation of designs.
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software (Fusion360, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or PTC Creo).
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to conceptualize and discuss 3D parts for design.
- Strong desire to learn and improve engineering skills.
- Capability to work independently on high-level tasks.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Familiarity with tolerance analysis and material selection for designs.
