Mechanical Design Engineer, Dimensional Engineering

The Mechanical Design Engineer in Dimensional Engineering at Tesla is responsible for the engineering design and development of new energy products, focusing on dimensional analysis and simulation to ensure high-quality manufacturing processes.

• Conduct dimensional CAE simulation using dedicated software.
• Analyze and communicate dimensional requirements with engineering teams and suppliers.
• Participate in the mechanical design of energy systems from concept to production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Service, and Manufacturing.
• Utilize GD&T principles in design processes.
• Engage in multi-variable capability analysis and statistical testing.
• Provide expertise in dimensional variation root cause analysis.

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1 year in computer-aided engineering, dimensional engineering, or CAE roles.
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with CATIA or similar CAD systems.
• Proficiency in dimensional variation analysis preferred.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 preferred.
• Comfort with statistical testing and analysis techniques.
