Equipment Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead machine safety design across vehicle, energy, and AI products.
  • Perform technical analyses on designs for automation and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with ANSI, ISO, RIA, NFPA, IBC, and OSHA standards.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for equipment safety.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to review and improve safety in designs.
  • Conduct safety training for teams on automation safety design principles.
  • Contribute to Tesla's hardware and software safety standards for equipment development.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety engineering, preferably in AI, robotics, or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with safety validation and design software.
  • Advanced understanding of safety systems relevant to AI and robotics.
  • Ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel for testing and commissioning.
