Responsibilities
- Oversee engineering activities from inception to closure ensuring alignment with manufacturing goals and timelines
- Drive reductions in CapEx, BOM, and manufacturing costs through innovative processes and operational improvements
- Mentor the engineering team and collaborate with production, controls, and construction teams
- Improve Gigafactory Texas operations by refining procedures and troubleshooting equipment installations
- Maintain detailed process records, develop DFMEA/PFMEA documentation, and validate automation systems
- Present funding requests and production updates to Tesla leadership
- Coordinate with construction teams to install and commission global production lines
Job Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar
- 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience + 3+ years engineering leadership
- Mechanical assembly expertise: tolerance analysis, adhesive bonding, pressing
- Data-driven problem solving: root cause analysis, JMP/statistical tools
- High-volume manufacturing experience in automated assembly and precision manufacturing
- Production quality metrics knowledge and exceptional communication skills
- Analytical rigor, organizational skills, and attention to detail
